How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join an innovative engineering team developing advanced radar and sensing technology. You'll work across the full systems engineering lifecycle, from early concept and requirements capture through to integration, verification, customer acceptance and in-service support.

Working alongside software, electronics and mechanical engineers, you'll play a key role in delivering technically complex projects while helping to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued development of the engineering function.

    The Role

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:

    *

Support the full systems engineering lifecycle from concept through to customer acceptance.

    *

Develop system requirements, architectures and technical solutions.

    *

Plan and support integration, verification and validation activities.

    *

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.

    *

Produce technical documentation, specifications and engineering reports.

    *

Identify and manage technical risks while supporting customers and mentoring junior engineers.

    About You

We're looking for an engineer with experience in systems engineering and product development who has:

    *

Experience in systems design, integration and testing across the product lifecycle.

    *

A good understanding of software, electronics and mechanical engineering principles.

    *

Strong communication skills with the ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams.

    *

Experience producing technical documentation and managing engineering activities.

    *

A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

    *

A full UK driving licence and eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance.

    Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

    *

    Radar, RF or defence systems.

    *

Communications protocols such as RS232, RS485, TCP/IP or CANbus.

    *

EMC testing, electronic fault finding and verification to industry or military standards.

    *

Leading engineering work packages, design reviews or multidisciplinary teams.

    *

Membership of a recognised professional engineering institution.

    Qualifications

Degree qualified in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

    What's on Offer

    *

    Salary up to £60,000.

    *

    Hybrid working.

    *

Work on cutting-edge radar and sensing technologies.

    *

Exposure to the complete systems engineering lifecycle.

    *

Long-term career development within a collaborative engineering environment.

Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance
