How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is a very successful manufacturing business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Engineering Supervisor.

    Salary £65K + Benefits

    We are seeking an experienced electrical bias engineer with excellent management and/or supervisory experience to manage and control all maintenance and CAP-ex projects activities at a large heavy industry processing plant near Wimbledon.

    The Role:

    The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all planned & reactive maintenance activities and some CAPEX project work.
    Your duties will include but is not limited to the following;

    Maintain and develop the existing CMMS
    Management & control of a small team of maintenance engineers and also external contractors
    Plan, manage and control all maintenance activities and engineering projects
    Effective Budget and CAPEX Project management
    Monitoring, sourcing and ordering spare and replacement parts
    Ensure adequate staff training, recruitment and disciplinary needs are met
    Adopt a continuous improvement approach and help to deliver efficiency and cost savings where possible
    Ensure compliance with all legal and HSE requirements
    Provide "Hands-on" assistance with electrical and mechanical engineering maintenance and repair of plant and machinery. Candidate:

    You will be a competent electrical engineer with previous engineering supervisor or manager experience.
    Ideally with previous experience in heavy industry or manufacturing environment e.g. foundry, quarry, recycling or chemical manufacturing.

    You will have at least 5 years management /supervisory experience and you must me confident in leading a team of engineers and external contractors.

    You will hold recognised electrical engineering qualification and ideally you will be trained in health & safety management to IOSH or NEBOSH level.

    You will have a recognised qualification in electrical engineering e.g. HNC, degree or 18th edition certification and you will have good knowledge and understanding of plc systems.

    We are seeking a highly organised and effective leader who will maintain a visible presence on the shop floor.
