We work in partnership with High Schools across all of Essex, providing them staff for all their needs. We've found that recent graduates or even undergrads get along brilliantly and are top of the list for most of our schools for staffing.
It is your role as a Cover Supervisor to encourage the classes learning, manage student behaviour, record accurate registers, and provide a handover to the absent teacher. Successful Graduate Cover Supervisors are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, and organised, they have a passion for education and supporting young people. You'll not be expected to be a subejct expert on any topic, just providing a postiive learning environment for all students to acheive the tasks set is key.
A Cover Supervisor will have the opportunity to work on a flexible schedule, either full-time or part-time.
This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience of working within a Secondary school prior to applying to Initial Teacher Training. With many of our schools being part of a training consortium, it's a huge head start for the short-listing process!
Although previous experience of working in childcare desirable, it is not essential.
If you are new to the Graduate Cover Supervisor role, you will be offered a comprehensive Cover Supervisor Training Programme to equip you will the skills you need.
The desired Graduate Cover Supervisor will have:
A degree or equivalent education.
Experience working with young people or a willingness to learn.
Leadership skills and confidence to lead a classroom of up to 30 students.
A passion for education and providing the highest possible level of support to young people.
Flexibility in their schedule and adaptability to teach at multiple schools.
