How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading renewable energy business specialising in utility-scale solar PV to recruit a Solar O&M Technician to support sites across the UK.

    Responsibilities and duties of the Technical Control Centre Team Lead role

    Reporting to the O&M Manager you will:

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance across utility-scale solar PV sites
    Diagnose and repair faults on solar PV systems, electrical equipment and associated infrastructure
    Respond to reactive maintenance callouts to minimise site downtime
    Complete scheduled inspections and ensure sites remain compliant with health and safety standards
    Produce accurate maintenance reports and record all completed work
    Identify opportunities to improve system performance and site reliability
    Assist with the commissioning of new solar PV installations
    Ensure compliance with all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies
    Other duties as required

    Professional qualifications

    We are looking for someone with the following:

    NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
    18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
    2391 Inspection & Testing qualification would be advantageous
    Experience maintaining, troubleshooting or commissioning electrical systems
    Previous experience within utility-scale or commercial solar PV would be beneficial

    Practical and hands-on with excellent fault-finding abilities
    Self-motivated and comfortable working independently across multiple sites
