How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Fixed Wire Tester / Fixed Wire Test Electrician
    Location: Central Scotland
    Salary: £45,000 – £55000 per annum + Overtime + Company Van
    Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 13:00 – 21:00 (Hours after 17:30 paid at x1.5)

    The Role

    We are currently seeking a skilled Fixed Wire Tester / Fixed Wire Test Electrician to join our specialist electrical team working across multiple sites within the London region. This is a mobile role offering excellent overtime opportunities and the chance to work within a supportive and experienced team.

    The successful candidate will carry out Electrical Inspection & Testing (EICR) and remedial works, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard and in line with current regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out Fixed Wire Testing and EICRs across commercial environments

    * Undertake electrical inspection, testing and remedial works

    * Ensure all work complies with BS7671: 18th Edition wiring regulations

    * Create remedial work reports and documentation

    * Maintain accurate certification and job records

    * Work independently while liaising with the wider team

    * Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures

    * Provide a professional service to clients and maintain strong customer relationships

    * Maintain personal and company vehicle records

    Requirements (Essential)

    * Experience in Fixed Wire Testing within a commercial environment

    * City & Guilds 2391 Test & Inspection (or equivalent)

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

    * NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)

    * Full UK Driving Licence

    * Strong organisational and communication skills

    * Ability to work independently and on own initiative

    Additional Information

    * Travel required across various regional sites

    * Company van provided

    * Reporting to site management and team leads daily

    * Standard Vetting required
