How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Wakefield (WF5)
    Payrates: £150 - £200 per day (Depending on experience)
    Start Date: Immediate
    Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

    GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are recruiting a Secondary School Teacher to join supportive secondary schools in Wakefield (WF5). We are interested in hearing from a committed and adaptable teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain positive classroom routines, and support students in making steady academic progress.

    This Secondary School Teacher position focuses on delivering clear, effective lessons while maintaining strong classroom management and supporting students to meet expected academic standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Deliver well-structured lessons that meet curriculum expectations.
    Maintain a positive classroom environment that supports focus and participation.
    Use assessment and feedback to help students understand their next steps.
    Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
    Adapt teaching methods to support a range of abilities and learning needs.
    Collaborate with colleagues to promote achievement, behaviour, and wellbeing.
    Requirements for Secondary School Teacher:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
    Experience teaching within secondary school settings.
    Sound understanding of curriculum delivery, assessment, and classroom standards is required.
    Clear communication, strong organisation, and professional judgement are desirable.
    Confidence in leading lessons across different groups and ability levels is essential.
    Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
