How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Cover Supervisors Required - September Start

    Join Tradewind Education and make a difference in secondary schools across Doncaster!

    Tradewind Education is seeking enthusiastic, confident, and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our team from September. We have flexible opportunities available on a day-to-day, short-term, and long-term basis, working across our network of secondary partnership schools throughout Doncaster.

    Whether you're an experienced Cover Supervisor, a recent graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with transferable experience working with young people, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Role

    As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, ensure students remain engaged with their work, and create a positive and productive classroom environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
    Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain focused on set work.
    Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
    Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
    Support students with their learning where appropriate.
    Record attendance and report any issues or concerns to the relevant school staff.
    Maintain professionalism and adapt confidently to different school environments.

    Requirements

    To be considered for this role, you should have:

    Experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational, youth work, coaching, mentoring, or similar setting (desirable but not essential).
    Strong classroom management and communication skills.
    Confidence leading groups of young people and building positive relationships.
    A flexible and adaptable approach to working in different schools.
    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind Education.
    The legal right to work in the UK.
