How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Contracts Manager

    Central London - Growing Specialist MEP Contractor

    £75,000.00 - £85,000.00 + Package

    We are working with a well-established, growing MEP contractor (c.£6M turnover) to appoint a Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects across Central London.

    This is a key hire for the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of 3-4 live projects at any one time, spanning commercial, heritage, and public sector schemes.

    The company operates within a strong group structure and has built a reputation for delivering technically focused mechanical packages across a diverse project portfolio.

    The Role

    You will take full responsibility for the delivery of mechanical packages from pre-construction through to completion, managing both the technical and commercial aspects of multiple projects.

    Working closely with Directors and site teams, you will play a central role in driving programme, quality, and client satisfaction across the business.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Managing 3–4 mechanical projects concurrently from pre-construction to handover

    * Leading procurement of subcontractors, plant, and equipment

    * Producing and managing project programmes, aligned with main contractor schedules

    * Overseeing technical submissions, RFIs, and design coordination

    * Managing variations, cost control, and commercial reporting

    * Producing and managing Applications for Payment and final accounts

    * Supporting site teams with technical and operational guidance

    * Overseeing commissioning, O&M manuals, and project close-out

    * Ensuring full compliance with HSEQ and regulatory standards

    The Candidate

    We are looking for a well-rounded Mechanical Contracts Manager who is comfortable managing multiple projects and operating in a hands-on environment.

    You will demonstrate:

    * Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts / Project Manager within building services

    * Strong technical knowledge across:

    * HVAC / Air Conditioning

    * Pipework & Plumbing

    * Ventilation systems

    * Experience delivering commercial or heritage projects

    * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

    * Strong commercial awareness, including variations and applications

    * Experience liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors

    * Proactive, organised, and capable of working with autonomy

    Qualifications:

    * HNC / equivalent in Building Services (or similar)

    * SMSTS

    * CSCS (Black Card)

    Why Join

    * Join a growing, well-backed MEP contractor with a strong pipeline

    * Opportunity to take real ownership of projects (not just a package)

    * Work across a diverse portfolio including heritage and high-profile sites

    * Direct exposure to senior leadership and business growth

    * Long-term opportunity to progress with the company
