How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Specialist SEN Support Assistant - Doncaster

    Are you an empathetic and resilient Specialist SEN Support Assistant looking for rewarding opportunities across Doncaster?

    Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting Specialist SEN Support Assistants to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a number of specialist education settings throughout Doncaster. These Specialist SEN Support Assistant opportunities involve supporting children and young people with Autism (ASC), SEMH and a range of additional learning needs within small class environments. Many settings provide personalised learning through intervention sessions, therapeutic support and tailored teaching approaches, allowing pupils to thrive both academically and emotionally.

    Position: Specialist SEN Support Assistant
    Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
    Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
    Pay: £92.56 - £100 per day (paid via PAYE, no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available)

    About the Role

    Working as a Specialist SEN Support Assistant in Doncaster, you will support pupils within mixed-age classes, where learning is tailored to ability rather than age.

    The Specialist SEN Support Assistant role in Doncaster includes working with small groups of around eight pupils, providing classroom support, delivering targeted interventions and assisting during therapeutic activities that promote communication, emotional regulation and independence.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH and additional needs
    Deliver small group and individual intervention sessions
    Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
    Assist with therapy-based and personalised learning activities
    Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
