How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Interim SEND Officer
    6-month contract – immediate start
    North London Local Authoirty 
    £286.28 per day
    Inside IR35 (via umbrella)
    Remote working

    Are you an experienced SEND Officer ready to step into a fast-paced, highly impactful role where your expertise will directly support children and families? You will be joining a focused recovery team tasked with making a real difference, clearing backlog, improving timelines, and ensuring high-quality EHC plans are delivered. This is your chance to take ownership, work autonomously, and showcase your ability to manage complex caseloads while collaborating closely with schools and families.
     
    Your role as a SEND Officer:

    Produce high-quality EHC Plans and draft amendments efficiently (target of ~10 per week).
    Lead annual review casework within a recovery/backlog team.
    Manage a dedicated school locality, acting as the key point of contact.
    Work collaboratively with schools, families, and professionals.
    Handle complex cases with confidence, ensuring compliance with legislation.Your previous experience as a SEND Officer:

    Proven track record of writing strong, compliant EHC Plans.
    Extensive SEND Team experience within a local authority setting.
    Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory processes.
    Excellent communication skills when liaising with families and schools.
    Positive references that reflect your quality and reliability.You will initially focus on recovery work before transitioning into a locality-based SEND Officer role, giving you variety and long-term impact. The process is streamlined, just a 30-minute Teams interview followed by a practical task, with decisions made quickly so you can get started without delay.
