We are currently recruiting for a Shift Chemist to join a rapidly growing waste management and treatment business based in Grays.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that has doubled in size in recent years and is now expanding into waste treatment operations, offering excellent long-term career prospects.
The Role
Working as part of the operations team, you will support the safe and efficient handling, assessment, and processing of waste materials on site.
This is a shift-based role, operating between 8am - 8pm, with a rotating pattern:
Week 1: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Week 2: 11:00am - 8:00pm
Key Responsibilities
Assess and classify incoming waste materials
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Support site operations and waste processing activities
Maintain accurate documentation and records
Work closely with the operations team to ensure efficient site performance
About You
Degree qualified in Chemistry or a related scientific field
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Interest in waste management, environmental services, or industrial operations
Able to work a rotating shift pattern💡 No prior industry experience required - full training will be provided for the right candidate.
