How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You'll take ownership of the branch's performance, driving operational excellence, developing a high-performing team, and delivering exceptional customer service while identifying opportunities for business growth.

As the face of the branch, you'll build strong customer relationships, spend time out in the market understanding customer needs, and actively seek opportunities to grow revenue. You'll combine strong commercial awareness with excellent leadership skills to create a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace where both customers and colleagues thrive.

Success in this role comes from balancing operational efficiency with a passion for people, delivering outstanding service while continually looking for ways to improve performance, strengthen customer partnerships, and develop your team.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Lead the Branch

Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the branch, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant operations.
Create a positive, customer-first culture where safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything.
Monitor branch performance, budgets, stock, and resources to maximise efficiency and profitability.
Ensure compliance with all operational procedures and Health & Safety standards through regular audits, risk assessments, and team briefings.
Review operational performance, identify trends, and implement improvements that drive better results.

    Drive Business Growth

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular site visits and proactive engagement.
Identify new business opportunities, generate quality leads, and convert opportunities into sustainable revenue.
Develop a strong understanding of the local market, customer requirements, and competitor activity.
Use commercial insight and negotiation skills to strengthen partnerships and maximise profitability.
Analyse operational and financial performance to support informed business decisions and continued growth.

    Deliver Outstanding Customer Service

Ensure every customer receives a professional, responsive, and solutions-focused service.
Work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide practical, compliant solutions.
Resolve enquiries and issues quickly while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Build long-term relationships that encourage customer loyalty and repeat business.

    Inspire and Develop Your Team

Lead, coach, and motivate your team to achieve individual and branch objectives.
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development, including NVQ progression where applicable.
Foster an inclusive and supportive working environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed.
Promote accountability, collaboration, and open communication across the branch.
Manage performance fairly and consistently, recognising success while supporting improvement where needed.
Plan rotas, manage attendance, and maintain accurate employee records.
Champion Health & Safety by ensuring safe working practices remain a priority for every member of the team.
Develop the Branch Supervisor to confidently lead the branch in your absence, ensuring continuity, consistency, and high performance.

    What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people, building relationships, and driving commercial success. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and where your leadership has a direct impact on both customer satisfaction and business performance.

    You'll have:

Experience managing or supervising a branch, operational, or service-led environment.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to grow revenue and improve profitability.
A proven track record in business development, customer retention, and identifying new opportunities.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging customers and negotiating effectively.
The ability to analyse KPIs and financial performance to make informed business decisions.
Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing and motivating people.
A commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and safety-first culture.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
Good IT skills, including experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
A proactive, adaptable approach with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

    Why Join?

This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact. You'll have the autonomy to shape branch performance, develop your team, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute directly to commercial success. If you're an energetic leader who enjoys building relationships, driving results, and creating a positive workplace culture, we'd love to hear
