How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Primarily Remote (Occasional travel to Darlington and supplier sites across the UK & Europe)
Contract: Until 31st December 2026 (with potential extension)

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join a leading global engineering organisation supporting a major European programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract in an almost fully remote role. While the position is home-based, there will be occasional visits to the Darlington site as well as travel to supplier locations across the UK and mainland Europe when required.

    The Role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring suppliers consistently deliver components that meet engineering, quality and customer requirements. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and external suppliers, you'll drive supplier quality improvements, resolve manufacturing issues and support new product introduction activities.

    Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Support supplier selection and qualification activities.
Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions.
Conduct supplier audits and monitor supplier performance.
Support APQP and PPAP activities throughout new product introduction.
Investigate build quality issues and lead structured root cause analysis.
Manage APQP metrics and supplier reporting.
Lead quality investigations and closure activities.
Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Support Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) initiatives across the supply base.

    What We're Looking For

Ideally 3-5 years' experience in a Supplier Quality Engineer position.
Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP and AIAG Core Tools.
Experience carrying out supplier audits and supplier development.
Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of quality management systems and supplier quality processes.
Experience within manufacturing, automotive, heavy engineering or a similar industry.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and mainland Europe.

    Qualifications

You'll ideally hold a Degree, HNC, HND, ONC, apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related discipline. Candidates with significant relevant industry experience will also be considered.

If you're an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer looking for your next long-term contract, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today for immediate consideration
