How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An innovative engineering company developing advanced battery systems for automotive, defence, marine and industrial applications is looking to appoint a Battery Pack Principal Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity to take technical ownership of the mechanical design and packaging of next-generation battery modules and battery packs, working on cutting-edge electrification programmes from concept through to production.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will collaborate with systems, thermal, electronics and electrical engineers to develop robust, manufacturable and high-performance battery pack solutions for a diverse range of customer applications.

    The Role

Lead the mechanical design of battery modules and battery packs.
Develop innovative packaging solutions for battery cells, HV/LV electrical components, harnesses and cooling systems.
Produce detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
Design sheet metal, machined, moulded and additive manufactured components.
Integrate thermal management solutions including liquid cooling systems.
Support Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) activities.
Work closely with suppliers, manufacturing partners and internal engineering teams throughout product development.
Manage engineering BOMs, product structures and engineering change processes.
Provide technical leadership and support the successful delivery of multiple engineering programmes. About You

You will be an experienced mechanical design engineer with a strong background in battery pack development and electro-mechanical packaging.

    You'll have:

Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Significant experience designing battery modules and battery packs.
Strong 3D CAD capability using SolidWorks, CATIA or Siemens NX.
Experience integrating battery cells, electrical components and cooling systems into complex assemblies.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, tolerance analysis and Design for Manufacture principles.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Experience within automotive, motorsport, aerospace, defence, marine, rail or energy storage industries. Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing engineering organisation delivering innovative electrification solutions across multiple high-growth industries. You'll work on technically challenging programmes, influence product development from concept to production, and play a key role in shaping the future of battery technology.
If you're looking for a role where you can combine technical leadership with hands-on engineering and make a real impact on next-generation battery systems, we'd love to hear from you
