How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

With a turnover of approximately £90 million and over 30 years of industry experience, they have built a strong reputation for delivering projects across a wide range of sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare, education, heritage, and public realm.

Working with both public and private sector clients, including local authorities, housing associations, government departments, schools, and commercial organisations, the business continues to secure a strong pipeline of work through its collaborative approach and commitment to quality.

The company places significant emphasis on developing and retaining talented individuals, offering a supportive working environment, long-term career progression, and the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects.

    The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planner to join the pre-construction and project delivery team based in Essex.

Working alongside an established planning team, you will be responsible for producing and managing construction programmes across 3–5 live projects at any one time. The role is primarily office-based, with regular travel to project sites throughout London and the South East to monitor progress and support delivery teams.

Reporting into senior management, you will play a key role in supporting both tender and live project activities, ensuring programmes are realistic, achievable, and effectively monitored throughout the construction lifecycle.

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    * Produce and manage tender and construction programmes using ASTA Powerproject.

    * Develop logistics, phasing, and project delivery programmes.

    * Monitor project progress, identify risks, and provide programme updates.

    * Work closely with commercial, design, and operational teams throughout project delivery.

    * Attend site visits and planning meetings to support programme accuracy.

    * Assist with delay analysis, extension of time claims, and programme reporting.

    * Contribute to project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and experience (Ideal but not essential):

    * Previous experience as a Construction Planner within a main contractor.

    * Proficient in ASTA Powerproject.

    * Strong understanding of construction sequencing, buildability, and project delivery.

    * Knowledge of construction contracts, programme management, and health & safety requirements.

    * Construction-related qualification or equivalent industry experience.

    * CIOB or RICS membership would be advantageous.

    * Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
