Role Description The Poker Dealer is responsible for dealing poker games accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with house rules and gaming regulations. Day-to-day tasks include shuffling and dealing cards, managing bets and pots, calculating and distributing winnings, and maintaining game pace while monitoring player activity. The role also involves providing clear explanations of rules, responding to player inquiries, and creating a friendly, professional atmosphere at the table. The Poker Dealer works closely with floor staff and cash desk teams to support smooth operations and accurate table transactions. This is a full-time, on-site role based at The N Casino in Daventry, requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service experience, with the ability to build rapport and maintain a welcoming table environment.
- Clear and confident communication skills, including explaining rules, handling disputes calmly, and engaging with players professionally.
- Proficiency in poker dealing
- Accurate cash handling skills, including managing chips, tracking bets and pots, and reconciling table transactions.
- Attention to detail and strong numeracy skills for calculating payouts and monitoring game activity.
- Ability to remain focused in a busy environment, uphold fairness, and follow gaming regulations and house procedures.
- Prior experience in casinos, hospitality, or gaming is beneficial; formal dealer training or certification is an advantage.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, stand for extended periods, and adhere to professional appearance and conduct standards.
