How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    PLATERS

    An excellent opportunity for skilled Platers to join a specialist engineering consultancy on a major industrial project in Scotland.

    Our client provides mechanical engineering, steelwork installation and industrial construction services to a range of highly regulated sectors across the UK. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking additional Platers to support a key installation project, with opportunities for ongoing work upon successful completion.

    This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Platers looking to secure long-term work on large-scale industrial projects with a well-established engineering contractor.

    Scotland

    Hourly Rates:

    Basic: £23.25
    Overtime A: £32.55
    Overtime B: £41.84
    IBA Payment: £2.37 per hour

    Allowances:

    Travel and Lodge allowances in line with the applicable industry agreement.Role:

    We are currently seeking experienced Platers to carry out the installation of structural support systems on a large industrial construction project. The successful candidates will be confident working from engineering drawings, setting out accurately and completing installations to strict tolerances while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Install structural steel support systems in accordance with engineering drawings.
    Read and interpret General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
    Set out and install work to specified tolerances.
    Work effectively as part of a site-based installation team.
    Adhere to all site health, safety and quality procedures.
    Complete work to a high standard within agreed project timescales.Qualifications & Experience:

    NVQ Level 3 in Plating or equivalent.
    Valid CCNSG, CSCS or recognised equivalent safety passport.
    Proven experience working from General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
    Experience setting out and installing steelwork to tight tolerances.Desirable:

    Experience using surveying equipment, including dumpy levels.Working Pattern:

    Minimum 100 hours worked over an 11-day rotation.
    Additional overtime available, with the opportunity to work in excess of 108 hours over the same period.Benefits:
