Structural Demolition & Refurbishment | City & West End, London | £85,000–£90,000 per annum + Package
A well-established contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of structural demolition and refurbishment schemes valued up to £30m across the City and West End of London. This is a senior, hands-on commercial role with a contractor who delivers technically demanding projects on some of the capital's most prominent addresses.
The role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll lead the commercial function on your projects from procurement through to final account, managing cost, risk and value across complex demolition and refurbishment works. You'll be the commercial lead on site and a key point of contact for the client, split between the project sites and the contractor's office in Bank, Central London.
Key responsibilities
* Full commercial management of structural demolition and refurbishment schemes up to £30m
* Procurement and management of subcontract packages
* Cost planning, valuations, cost reporting and cash flow management
* Preparation and agreement of interim applications and final accounts
* Managing commercial risk, variations and change control
* Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and the site team
What you'll need
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS with a main or specialist contractor
* Strong background in demolition, structural refurbishment, or complex refurbishment works
* A solid understanding of the commercial and contractual demands of central London projects
* Confident managing packages and accounts on schemes of significant value
* Relevant qualifications; a quantity surveying degree or equivalent is advantageous
