How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you a hands-on procurement professional based in the UK, looking for a role where you can help build a supply chain function from the ground up within a fast-growing international FMCG business? We are looking for a Junior Buyer / Procurement Officer on behalf of our client, the UK subsidiary of a global food brand expanding rapidly across Europe.

    Key Responsibilities

    Intercompany Procurement

    • Own the purchasing process for all product orders placed with the manufacturing entity overseas, in line with global supply agreements, HQ allocation decisions, and supply chain planning requirements
    • Ensure orders are placed accurately, on time, and within agreed commercial and operational parameters
    • Monitor supply risks and take proactive steps to prevent order or delivery failures

Purchase Order Process and ERP Administration

    • Drive the full procurement cycle from order creation through to receipt and confirmation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in SAP at every stage
    • Issue purchase orders, verify order details, and ensure all documentation is complete and correct
    • Maintain a clear and reliable audit trail of procurement activity

    Cross-Functional Coordination

    • Act as an independent point of contact for internal teams, including sales, logistics, and finance, providing objective updates, flagging issues, and keeping procurement activity aligned with business needs
    • Communicate proactively with the sales team to keep the ordering process optimised around commercial priorities
    • Coordinate with logistics on import clearances and inbound shipment tracking

    Supply Chain Process Development

    • Support the setup and formalisation of SCM processes within the UK entity, in line with the existing global framework
    • Identify areas where process improvements or better documentation can reduce risk or increase efficiency
    • Work closely with the Supply Chain Lead, based in the Netherlands, to ensure the procurement function scales as the business grows

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Professional fluency in English, written and spoken
    • 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in a buying, procurement, or supply chain coordination role within FMCG
    • Proven working knowledge of SAP for order management and documentation
    • Comfortable working 5 days onsite in the office
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
    • Solid data entry accuracy and attention to detail for managing order records
    • Comfortable operating independently within a small, lean team where processes are still being built
    • Confident communicator able to coordinate across sales, finance, and logistics on your own initiative
    • Familiarity with intercompany or international supply chain processes, including import clearances and direct-from-manufacturer flows, is an advantage
    • Prior experience in an overseas subsidiary reporting into a head office in a different country is a meaningful advantage

    What We Offer

    • Salary range of GBP 33,000 to GBP 41,000 gross per year, depending on experience
    • 25 days of annual leave per year, in addition to UK bank holidays
    • Pension plan with 5% employer contribution and a minimum 3% employee contribution
    • Monthly wellbeing allowance of GBP 50 toward fitness, sport, or yoga
    • Life insurance
    • Company phone and laptop
    • Fully office-based role, 5 days per week, at the Wimbledon office. Core hours run from an 08:00 to 08:30 start through to around 17:30
    • Permanent contract directly with the client, following a 3-month probationary period
    • Newly created role within a UK entity that is being built from the start, with direct visibility to senior leadership and genuine ownership of how the procurement function takes shape
    • Growth opportunities as the team and business needs expand
    • International, collaborative working environment across the UK and the Netherlands

    Interested? Feel free to apply!

Please note that we can only consider applicants who are currently based in the United Kingdom and who will not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
