How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Design Engineer
    £35,000 - £38,000
    Permanent
    Engineering @365 Ltd
Engineering @365 is working with a well-established manufacturer that specialises in bespoke sheet metal fabrication and engineered solutions for a wide range of industries. Due to continued growth, the company is looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join its engineering team.
    About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join a busy and growing manufacturing business. The role centres on taking customer or project drawings and developing them into detailed, production-ready engineering drawings.
Working closely with the engineering and production teams, you'll break down complex assemblies into individual components, ensuring all parts are accurately detailed for manufacture. As well as sheet metal fabrication, you'll be involved in incorporating mechanical components and engineering principles into designs, including items such as hydraulic systems, gears, bearings, shafts, fasteners, and other mechanical assemblies where required.
This role would suit someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys solving technical challenges and producing practical, manufacturable solutions.
    Key Responsibilities
    *
Interpret customer drawings, engineering specifications, and general arrangement (GA) drawings.
    *
Break down complex assemblies into individual components and detailed manufacturing drawings.
    *
Produce accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings for fabrication and production.
    *
Specify and integrate mechanical components, including hydraulics, gears, bearings, shafts, fixings, and other engineering elements where required.
    *
Ensure designs are practical, functional, and suitable for manufacture and assembly.
    *
Consider manufacturing methods, material selection, tolerances, and assembly requirements throughout the design process.
    *
Work closely with production teams to ensure drawings meet manufacturing requirements.
    *
Update and amend drawings in line with engineering changes and production feedback.
    *
Maintain accurate drawing records, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation where required.
    What We're Looking For
    *
Previous experience in a Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, or CAD Technician role.
    *
    Proficient in AutoCAD.
    *
Experience within a sheet metal, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
    *
Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and machine components.
    *
Knowledge of mechanical systems such as hydraulics, gears, bearings, power transmission, and fabricated assemblies.
    *
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and produce detailed manufacturing documentation.
    *
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
    *
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload effectively.
    What's on Offer
    *
Salary of £35,000 - £38,000, depending on experience.
    *
    Permanent full-time position.
    *
Opportunity to join an established and growing engineering business.
    *
Varied and technically challenging role working on bespoke engineering projects.
    *
Supportive working environment with excellent long-term career prospects.
