How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor to join their London team. The building surveyor will work on a mix of projects including new build, refurbishments, maintenance, and alterations. The building surveyor will deliver surveys, prepare reports, and advise clients on actions required.This role is ideal for a building surveyor looking to broaden their experience and take ownership of projects in a supportive team environment.

    The successful building surveyor will join a consultancy offering diverse project exposure and professional development. The Assistant Building Surveyor will work alongside an experienced team, contributing to project delivery across London and expanding their skills in both project management and professional surveying services.

    The Role
    As the building surveyor you will work alongside senior colleagues to support project delivery. The role will include:

    Undertaking building surveys, producing reports and recommendations

    Managing project documentation, budgets, and programmes

    Coordinating with design teams and contractors

    Undertaking contract administration

    Supporting professional services including condition surveys, measured surveys, and dilapidations

    The Assistant Building Surveyor?
    You will be a motivated and committed individual with a background in building surveying. Applications from candidates without construction-related experience will not be considered.

    The Assistant Building Surveyor must have:

    A degree in Building Surveying or a relevant property discipline

    Experience in professional services or project management

    Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with clients

    Confidence working in multidisciplinary teams

    Awareness of industry standards and current practices
