How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Science SEN Teacher

    Doncaster | Full-Time | Competitive Salary (Dependent on Experience)

    Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established trust of specialist schools in Doncaster for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science SEN Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to work across multiple schools within the trust, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs while delivering engaging and accessible Science lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence.

    This role is ideal for a passionate teacher who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and has the ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs.

    The Role

    As a Science SEN Teacher, you will deliver high-quality Science lessons to secondary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work across a number of schools within the trust, collaborating with experienced colleagues to provide an engaging, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

    Many of the pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and may present with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) or communication needs. Your ability to differentiate learning and build positive relationships will be key to helping pupils achieve their full potential.

    Responsibilities

    Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that are differentiated to meet individual learning needs.
    Inspire pupils to develop confidence, curiosity and a positive attitude towards Science.
    Adapt teaching strategies and resources to ensure all learners can access the curriculum.
    Support pupils in achieving their individual EHCP outcomes where applicable.
    Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
    Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, adapting teaching where required.
    Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists and wider multi-disciplinary teams.
    Promote positive behaviour through consistent and restorative approaches.
    Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for someone who:

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
    Has experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4.
    Has experience working with pupils with SEND or a genuine passion for specialist education.
    Can confidently differentiate lessons to meet a wide range of learning abilities.
    Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    Is patient, resilient and committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
    Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
    Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one).
