How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Computer Science Teacher

    A large secondary school based in Ealing is looking for a Computer Science Teacher.

    The school is looking for someone to start on a long-term contract until at least July 2027.

    This position is full time, but the school is open to part-time applicants. Working hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

    Salary will match Inner London MPS/UPS.

    The school has available parking spaces.

    Computer Science Teacher - Ealing, London

    Deliver engaging and inspiring Computer Science lessons, enabling students to develop their understanding of programming, computational thinking, and digital technologies while applying their knowledge to real-world contexts.
    Support students in building confidence with coding, algorithms, data representation, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies through practical and interactive learning experiences.
    Encourage curiosity and problem-solving by fostering a passion for technology and equipping students with the skills needed for further education and future careers.
    Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where every student is challenged to achieve their full potential.
    Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback that supports continuous academic development.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the continued success and development of the Computing department.

    Qualifications and Person Specification:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

    Approachable, enthusiastic, and committed to high standards of teaching and learning.M1 - M6 salaries are aligned to experience within the Main Pay Range. Teachers typically progress annually from M1 through to M6. UPS requires formal application. TLR payments are made for agreed, sustained additional duties outside of regular teaching.
