How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description

    The Family Fee Earner undertakes a wide range of legal work relating to family law matters, providing client advice and support throughout each case. The role involves managing a caseload, preparing legal documents, attending meetings and court hearings, and liaising with clients and other professionals to ensure the effective delivery of legal services. The position requires a thorough understanding of family law and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and empathy. The Family Fee Earner works closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of client care and compliance with regulatory requirements.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Manage and progress a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child arrangements, financial settlements, and domestic abuse cases.
    Provide clear, concise and accurate legal advice to clients, ensuring they understand their rights and options.
    Draught and review legal documents such as court applications, statements, consent orders and correspondence.
    Attend client meetings, court hearings and mediation sessions as required.
    Liaise with clients, external agencies, barristers and court staff to facilitate case progression.
    Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
    Identify and refer complex matters to senior colleagues or specialists when necessary.
    Keep up to date with changes in family law legislation and practise.
    Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery and client satisfaction.
