How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Estimator

    Romford, Essex

    £65,000 - £90,000 + Bonus + Benefits

    About the Company

    Our client is an established Building Services contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) solutions across London and the South East.

    For more than 20 years, they have successfully delivered projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, residential, industrial and public sectors, building long-standing relationships through technical expertise, exceptional project delivery and a collaborative approach.

    Their success has been built on investing in their people, embracing innovation and consistently delivering projects to the highest standards. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their expanding Pre-Construction team.

    The Opportunity

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected contractor where you'll play a key role in securing future projects and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    Prepare accurate cost estimates from tender documentation and technical specifications.
    Review drawings, schedules and employer's requirements to produce competitive tenders.
    Carry out detailed quantity take-offs and material pricing exercises.
    Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
    Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative design solutions.
    Prepare comprehensive tender submissions within required timescales.
    Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings with clients and consultants.
    Support bid presentations and contract negotiations where required.You'll ideally have:

    Previous experience as a Electrical Estimator within an M&E or Building Services contractor.
    Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
    Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office.
    Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
