This is a hands-on quality role for someone who understands education, training, compliance and learner outcomes, but can also get into the detail and do the work. We are not looking for someone who only talks strategy. We need someone who can identify issues, solve problems, improve systems and support teams to deliver better outcomes.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, curriculum teams, tutors, assessors and IQAs to strengthen quality across the business. This role will be central to improving our provision through our QCCI framework: Quality, Compliant, Commercial and Impactful.
We are looking for someone with strong quality knowledge, leadership qualities, critical thinking, problem solving ability and the confidence to challenge where needed.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
Support the delivery of quality assurance activity across all programmes.
Help develop, monitor and improve Quality Improvement Plans.
Use the QCCI framework to ensure provision is quality led, compliant, commercially aware and impactful for learners and employers.
Identify quality risks, gaps and areas for improvement.
Turn quality findings into practical actions that teams can understand and implement.
Monitor learner files, portfolios, assessment records and evidence to ensure they meet internal and external requirements.
Support preparation for audits, awarding body visits, funding checks and Ofsted readiness.
IQA, Assessment and Compliance
Oversee and support Internal Quality Assurance activity.
Review sampling plans, IQA records, assessment decisions and standardisation activity.
Ensure assessment and IQA processes are valid, reliable, consistent and compliant.
Support tutors, assessors and IQAs to improve the quality of evidence and feedback.
Ensure programmes meet awarding body rules, funding requirements and internal quality standards.
Help close actions from audits, EQA visits and internal reviews.
Teaching, Learning and Learner Journey
Support the review of teaching, learning and assessment across provision.
Review schemes of work, session plans, learner journeys and progress tracking.
Work with curriculum teams to improve planning, delivery and learner outcomes.
Monitor learner feedback and use it to drive improvement.
Help ensure learners receive a high quality experience from start to finish.
Support teams to improve achievement, retention, progression and overall learner outcomes.
Data, Systems and Technology
Use technology, data and digital systems to improve quality monitoring.
Analyse quality data, learner progress, feedback, audit findings and performance trends.
Create clear reports, dashboards or trackers where needed to support decision making.
Use systems effectively to monitor risk, evidence improvement and improve accountability.
Identify where processes can be made more efficient, accurate and easier for teams to follow.
Leadership and Team Support
Provide support and challenge to tutors, assessors, IQAs and delivery teams.
Promote a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.
Coach and guide staff to improve quality standards.
Lead or support standardisation meetings, quality reviews and improvement activity.
Work collaboratively with managers and senior leaders to strengthen provision.
Promote safeguarding, British Values, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Health and Safety and learner wellbeing across delivery.
Essential Requirements
Experience in a quality assurance, IQA, curriculum, compliance or education management role.
Strong understanding of quality assurance within education, training or funded learning.
Experience working with tutors, assessors, IQAs and curriculum teams.
Good knowledge of awarding body requirements, learner evidence, assessment and internal verification.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Confident using systems, spreadsheets, data and technology to monitor quality and performance.
Ability to turn issues into practical solutions.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Able to challenge professionally and support teams to improve.
Highly organised, detail focused and able to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable Requirements
Recognised IQA qualification.
Recognised teaching or assessing qualification.
Experience preparing for audits, EQA visits or Ofsted activity.
Experience with adult education, apprenticeships, employability, skills bootcamps or funded training.
Experience creating trackers, reports, dashboards or digital quality systems.
