How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
    St Ives, Cambridgeshire
    £58,874 P/A + benefits (£26.96 p/h)
    Shifts: Panama shift pattern Day/Night rotating

    This is the perfect time for a hard-working and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer, to join our busy Maintenance Team.

    So, what's the role about?
    Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault-finding and maintenance of equipment. You will work on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.

    Working 42 hours per week, the current shift pattern covers days and nights, Monday - Sunday.

    What are the skills required?

    A good electrical working knowledge with mechanical experience is essential
    Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position with Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3 or equivalent)
    A thorough understanding of the IEE 18th edition
    Good understanding of current environmental, health, and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
    Practical hands-on approach
    Have significant experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a variety of plants
    Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities
    Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
    Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production
