How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Have you been working as Health & Safety lead within the housing sector and looking for a company that will invest further in your career?

You'll spend time in the office and on-site, with varied days across multiple client locations throughout Yorkshire. This gives you the autonomy to structure your week how it suits you best and keeps your work interesting and diverse.

Alongside that flexibility, you'll enjoy excellent job security, working with a highly reputable contractor in the social housing sector. You'll also benefit from a company bonus of up to 15% and a generous car allowance, which adds to the overall package.

There's also strong development potential. You'll have access to further qualifications funded by the company, helping you progress your career in the direction you want. Whether it's legal updates, technical training or recognised qualifications, you'll be supported to build your expertise.

    What you'll do

You'll drive health, safety and environmental standards across social housing refurbishment projects. This includes auditing sites, managing incidents and producing insights that help improve safety across the business.

You'll work closely with operational teams to ensure safety is embedded at every stage of a project, giving you influence over major decisions and control over how standards are applied in the field.

As part of this, you'll also liaise with key external bodies like the HSE, insurers and the Environment Agency when needed, further broadening your range of experience and your professional network.

    What you'll need

    Recognised health and safety qualifications:

    NEBOSH Diploma
    Environmental Qualification and knowledge.
Recognised Temporary Works Certificate accredited to CITB.
    Knowledge of construction and CDM

Proven experience managing HSE in construction or refurbishment projects

Strong knowledge of ISO standards and the ability to help implement and maintain them

    About the company

The business is a well-established social housing contractor, delivering high-value projects across decarbonisation, refurbishment and retrofit programmes. They've built a strong reputation for quality and compliance, making them a trusted partner in the sector.
