How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MEP / Building Services / Electrical Design Engineer / Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
    An excellent opportunity based in London for an experienced electrical design engineer who is looking to develop their experience, knowledge and career, with one of the UK’s leading, award-winning MEP engineering practices; a practice that is owned by the people who work there and committed to leading the industry in tackling the challenges posed by the climate and biodiversity crises.
    Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities
    * Design and deliver electrical services on projects across a range of sectors with duties covering all aspects from RIBA stage 0 to 7.
    * Delivering innovative, sustainable solutions that really work and are beautifully integrated with the architecture and structure.
    * Build on your initial professional development, supplementing existing knowledge with new learning to deliver electrical designs on projects.
    * Carry out site monitoring,
    * Participate in client and design team meetings
    * Contribute to the initial training and support of graduate engineers.
    * You will work under the guidance of Senior or Principal Engineers.
    Experience
    * A relevant degree qualification
    * Working towards, and possibly ready to apply for, chartered status.
    * Experience working with digital design tools such as BlueBeam, Revit and ProDesign.
    * The ability to think creatively, applying a considered and rigorous approach to both design and delivery.
    * Experience through a graduate programme in electrical design working for a UK based MEP consultancy.
    * You will have a strong understanding of electrical engineering in buildings
    * will be self-motivated and capable of working well under pressure.
    * A strong desire to communicate and work collaboratively with others, both internally and externally, is essential
