How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Cable Project Engineer for a major offshore wind project in Scotland

    Responsibilities

    * Provide cable engineering support across multiple projects by producing or reviewing outline cable system designs during development phases, including review and assessment of technology options, underground cable routing selection, producing current rating calculations using CYMCAP software and assessment of interface requirements.
    * Support the project life cycle, including design development, risk sessions such as HAZIDs, HAZCONs, HAZOPs, construction, installation, commissioning, and completion of complex projects. Collaborate with engineers and managers to identify and mitigate engineering and quality risks, support informed decision-making, and conduct peer reviews of key issues.
    * Develop technical scopes and specifications for new underground cable projects as well as modifications to existing assets. Responsibilities will also include reviewing cable system prequalification and type testing reports in preparation for clients approval, reviewing and verifying contractor/consultant detailed underground cable system designs, witnessing factory and relevant discipline site acceptance testing.
    * Promote and manage safety by design throughout the engineering process by ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, ESQCR, and relevant HSE legislation, embedding good design practices and lessons learned.

    Requirement
    * A relevant engineering discipline degree and ideally be a Chartered Engineer * Experience working on the Transmission Network and an extensive knowledge of High Voltage Cables and an awareness of the legal and regulatory obligations for Transmission and be pro-active in insuring these are met to the highest standard.
    * Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams on transmission or major infrastructure projects.
    * A technical understanding of relevant legislation and the implications of this for Transmission network management for both Assets and Projects, including CDM & ESQCR is essential
