How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Surfacing Manager / Site Manager

    Location: Bellshill, Glasgow
    Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum
    Working Arrangement: 5 days per week on site (no remote working)

    Role Overview

    The Surfacing Manager / Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of surfacing operations across site, overseeing multiple gangs and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage and coordinate two surfacing teams, ensuring all activities are delivered in accordance with project specifications, programme timelines, and quality standards. Oversee daily site operations, including planning works, allocating labour, plant, and materials to meet delivery targets. Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with approved method statements and risk assessments, maintaining a strong focus on health and safety throughout.

    Supervise site activities to ensure productivity, performance, and high standards of workmanship are consistently achieved. Liaise with project stakeholders, including site engineers, subcontractors, and senior management, to ensure effective communication and smooth delivery of works. Monitor progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions where required.

    Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, permits, and quality documentation. Ensure all plant, equipment, and workforce are compliant and operating safely. Promote best practice and lead by example to maintain a positive safety culture on site
