How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Secondary School Teacher

    Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with a range of secondary schools to recruit Secondary School Teachers across various subjects for September 2026 starts.

    We are welcoming applications from passionate and motivated teachers who are committed to delivering high‑quality education and inspiring young people across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, where applicable).

    Subjects May Include:

    English
    Maths
    Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
    Humanities (History, Geography, RE)
    MFL
    PE
    Design Technology
    ICT / Computer Science
    Other specialist subjects

    The Role:

    Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum
    Monitoring progress and supporting pupil attainment and wellbeing
    Managing classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive learning environment
    Contributing to departmental planning and wider school life
    Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents

    The Ideal Candidate:

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
    Experience teaching at secondary level (ECTs are encouraged to apply)
    Strong subject knowledge and a passion for education
    Able to motivate, challenge and support learners of mixed abilities
    Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
