How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Lead DT Teacher
    Location: North Birmingham
    Start Date: September
    Salary: £170 - £223 per day

The school promotes a culture of ambition, creativity, and high expectations, with a strong focus on preparing students for real-world skills through a dynamic curriculum. The Design and Technology department is well-resourced and offers an exciting environment for a Lead DT Teacher to make a lasting impact.

    This Lead DT Teacher role is a long-term position starting in September, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful Lead DT Teacher will take responsibility for leading the Design and Technology curriculum, supporting departmental development, and delivering high-quality lessons that drive student progress. As a Lead DT Teacher, you will also play a key role in mentoring colleagues and contributing to whole-school improvement.

    The successful Lead DT Teacher will have:
    • QTS with a specialism in Design and Technology
    • Proven experience teaching DT across KS3 and KS4
    • Strong classroom management and the ability to engage all learners
    • Leadership experience or clear leadership potential within a department
    • A passion for raising attainment and improving outcomes
    • A collaborative approach and commitment to whole-school development
