How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Behaviour Specialist HLTA - Caerphilly (September Start)
Pay: £100.00-£130.00 per day (depending on experience)
Do you have a passion for transforming behaviour and helping young people reach their full potential?
Are you confident, resilient, and able to build strong, meaningful relationships with pupils who need that extra support?
Aspire People are recruiting for a Behaviour Specialist HLTA to work across schools in Caerphilly from September. This is a highly rewarding role where you'll play a pivotal part in helping pupils overcome barriers, re-engage with learning, and achieve success both in and out of the classroom.

    The Role
As a Behaviour Specialist HLTA, you'll be at the heart of the school's support system-working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and ALN/SEN specialists to create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
You won't just manage behaviour-you'll influence change, build confidence, and make a lasting difference.

    Key Responsibilities

Targeted behaviour support: Deliver impactful 1:1 and small-group interventions to improve engagement, emotional regulation and readiness to learn
Positive behaviour & de-escalation: Use proven strategies to reduce disruption and successfully support pupils back into lessons
HLTA responsibilities: Lead engaging learning activities, deliver planned sessions and confidently provide high-quality classroom cover
Pastoral support: Support pupils with routines, transitions and reintegration following behavioural challenges
Collaborative working: Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral/ALN teams to implement and review individual behaviour plans
Safeguarding: Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures to ensure pupil wellbeing at all times

    The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone passionate, proactive and emotionally intelligent, who thrives in a challenging but rewarding environment:

Experience working with children or young people in education or a support-based setting
Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to quickly build trust and rapport
Confidence stepping into an HLTA role, leading sessions and interventions independently
A calm, consistent and resilient approach
Excellent communication and a genuine team-player mentality

Desirable (but not essential): Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, EBD, mental health needs, challenging behaviour, anxiety and/or ALN.

    Why Aspire People?

Work with a specialist education consultant who understands your skills and goals
Opportunities to work across a variety of schools in Caerphilly
Ongoing support and access to long-term career opportunities within education
A chance to secure a role where you can genuinely make a difference every day
