How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Tradewind are recruiting! Are you looking for you next role teaching A level Physics in a great school located in Tower Hamlets?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with this Client, a high-achieving secondary school in the borough of Tower Hamlets, to appoint a dedicated and inspiring Physics Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Physics specialist to teach A Level alongside KS3 and KS4, within a forward-thinking and academically driven environment.

This Client is a well-regarded secondary school that has been recognised in its most recent Ofsted inspection for its strong leadership, high expectations, and consistently improving academic outcomes. Inspectors praised the school's culture of ambition, effective teaching, and the positive attitudes to learning demonstrated by students across the school. The report also highlighted the school's commitment to science and mathematics, with strong progression routes into A Level study.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging Physics lessons at A Level, as well as teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 where required. You will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that develop students' scientific understanding, practical skills, and exam technique, while also contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the science department.

Job role requirements include teaching Physics up to A Level, strong subject knowledge across the science curriculum, the ability to deliver engaging and rigorous lessons, effective classroom and behaviour management, and the ability to inspire students to achieve high academic standards. You will also be expected to track and monitor student progress, support intervention strategies, and contribute to the wider science faculty.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, a relevant degree in Physics or a closely related subject, and experience teaching Physics at secondary level, ideally including A Level. A strong understanding of exam specifications such as AQA or OCR is highly desirable. The successful teacher will be analytical, enthusiastic, and committed to raising attainment in Science, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues. ECTs with strong Physics specialism and placement experience are also encouraged to apply.

This Client offers a supportive and well-resourced Science department, modern laboratories, and a strong culture of professional development. Staff benefit from a collaborative working environment where innovation in teaching is encouraged and supported. The school is based in Tower Hamlets and benefits from excellent transport links, including nearby Underground stations such as the District, Hammersmith & City, and Jubilee lines, as well as extensive bus routes providing easy access across East and Central London.

Working with Tradewind Recruitment provides additional benefits including competitive pay in line with London MPS/UPS, ongoing support from a dedicated consultant, and unlimited access to National College free CPD courses to support your professional growth and career development.
Interviews are to be arranged immediately, and the school will conduct interviews once CVs have been shortlisted, so do not delay in applying for this role.
