How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Tradewind are recruiting! Are you looking for you next role teaching ENGLISH in a great school located in Redbridge?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with this Client, a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the borough of Redbridge, to appoint a passionate and committed English Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled English specialist to inspire a love of literature and language across Key Stages 3 and 4, within a supportive and ambitious school community.

This Client is a well-established secondary school that has been recognised in its most recent Ofsted inspection for its strong leadership, inclusive culture, and improving outcomes for students. Inspectors highlighted the school's positive learning environment, effective teaching practice, and high expectations for both behaviour and academic achievement. The report also noted the school's commitment to developing literacy and raising attainment across the curriculum.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging English lessons, promoting high standards of literacy, reading, writing, and analytical skills. You will be expected to plan and deliver well-structured lessons, assess and track student progress, prepare learners for GCSE examinations, and contribute to departmental resources and enrichment activities such as reading clubs, writing workshops, and extracurricular opportunities.

Job role requirements include teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, strong subject knowledge, the ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons, effective classroom and behaviour management, and a commitment to raising attainment and progress for all learners. You should be confident in using assessment data to inform planning and intervention strategies.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, a degree in English or a closely related subject, and experience teaching English in a secondary school setting. A strong understanding of GCSE English specifications is essential. The successful teacher will be enthusiastic, reflective, and passionate about English, with the ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities. ECTs with strong subject knowledge and school-based training experience are welcome to apply.

This Client offers a supportive English department, well-resourced classrooms, and a strong focus on professional development and staff wellbeing. The school promotes a collaborative culture where staff are encouraged to share best practice and develop their teaching skills. The school is based in Redbridge and benefits from excellent transport links, including nearby Underground and Overground stations, as well as reliable bus routes connecting across East London and surrounding areas.

Working with Tradewind Recruitment also provides access to a range of benefits including competitive pay in line with London MPS/UPS, ongoing support from a dedicated consultant, and unlimited access to National College free CPD courses to support your professional growth and career development.

Interviews are to be arranged immediately, and the school will conduct interviews once CVs have been shortlisted, so do not delay in applying for this role.
