How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Teacher of Business Studies
    Location: Coventry, West Midlands
    Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
    Contract: Full-time
    Start Date: September 2026

    Description

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Business Studies to join a successful secondary school in Coventry from September 2026. The school is seeking an inspiring practitioner who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons and foster a passion for business and enterprise among students.
    The successful candidate will teach Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5, helping students develop commercial awareness, analytical thinking, and an understanding of the modern business environment. This role would suit both experienced teachers and ambitious Early Career Teachers looking to develop their careers in a supportive and forward-thinking school.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    Have a degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance, or a related subject.
    Have experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level, including GCSE and ideally A-Level.
    Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Business and Enterprise.
    Be able to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students of all abilities.
    Use effective assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress.
    Have strong classroom management and communication skills.
    Be committed to maintaining high expectations and raising achievement.
    Contribute positively to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and enterprise initiatives.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
