How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Overview

    We are seeking a skilled Coppersmith / Sheet Metal Worker specialising in Aviation and Aerospace industries (or those with high spec industry experience).

    This role involves fabricating, assembling, and repairing sheet metal components used in aircraft manufacturing and maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand tools, and experience working with sheet metal materials. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-precision projects within a dynamic aerospace environment.

    Duties

    * Manufacture, form, and assemble aerospace sheet metal components, including ducting, pipework, and structural fabrications

    * Work with a range of materials including aluminium, stainless steel and titanium

    * Perform grinding, welding, and assembly of sheet metal components with precision and attention to detail

    * Conduct mechanical fitting, ensuring parts are correctly aligned and securely assembled

    * Utilise basic maths skills to measure, cut, and shape materials accurately

    * Inspect finished products for quality assurance, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards

    * Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times

    * Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues and suggest improvements for manufacturing processes

    * Ensure all work conforms to AS9100

    Requirements

    * Proven experience in fabrication, grinding, welding, and assembly within the aerospace, aviation or tight tolerance / high spec sectors

    * Strong mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal work and tooling techniques

    * Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised tooling used in sheet metal fabrication

    * Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation

    * Knowledge of safety standards relevant to aerospace manufacturing environments e.g. AS9100, NADCAP

    * Previous experience working with sheet metal materials such as aluminium or stainless steel

    * ***Must have the ability to obtain BPSS clearance, Pass DBS check 7 Prove last 3 years working experience**
