How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Company Overview

Our client is a well-established electrical contractor with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects across the UK.

Previously operating as a 60+ employee business, the company experienced a reduction in size post-COVID and is now entering a focused growth phase.

With a solid reputation, established client relationships, and proven delivery capability, the business is now seeking an electrically qualified professional to play a key role in rebuilding and expanding the company back to its former scale.

    The Role

This is a strategic, client-facing role for an Electrical professional, combining technical understanding with business development responsibility.

We are specifically looking for someone who has come from an electrical background (e.g. Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Estimator) and has naturally developed client relationships and won work through their career.

You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, supporting bids, and helping shape the future growth of the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across the UK

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, main contractors, and stakeholders

    * Leverage your industry experience and contacts to generate opportunities

    * Work closely with delivery and estimating teams on tenders and bid submissions

    * Provide technical input during early-stage discussions with clients

    * Contribute to overall business strategy and growth plans

    * Attend industry events, networking functions, and client meetings

    * Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities

    * Support the company’s ambition to scale back to pre-COVID levels

    Candidate Requirements

    Essential:

    * Proven background within the electrical contracting sector

    * Experience in a Project Management, Contracts Management, or Estimating role

    * Strong understanding of electrical project delivery and client requirements

    * Experience in client-facing roles and developing opportunities through relationships

    Desirable:

    * Previous involvement in business development, tendering, or winning work

    * Established network within the electrical/construction industry

    * Experience contributing to bids, pricing, or commercial strategy

    What’s on Offer

    * Opportunity to play a key role in rebuilding and shaping a growing business

    * High level of autonomy and influence

    * Competitive salary and performance-related bonus

    * Clear progression as the business scales
