How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire (S65 area)
Salary: £48,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience, plus performance-linked bonus and extra shift pay)
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, with extra pay for weekend or night coverage)
Key Benefits: Imminent Ofsted registration, 30 days holiday + birthday leave, dedicated CPD budget, and paid professional membership fees

Are you an experienced Registered Manager or a senior Deputy ready for the backing to step up?

We believe in rewarding your leadership properly, which is why we're offering a highly competitive salary up to £55,000 depending on your experience. Whether you're an established leader looking for a fresh challenge or an ambitious senior Deputy, Great Children Support will fund your Level 5, guide you through the Ofsted process, and give you the absolute autonomy to build your own team from scratch.

Why join the Great Children Support family?
    ● A True Specialism: We don't do generic care. Heartwood House is a specialised learning disability (LD) and autism home supporting children with complex needs.
    ● Clinical & Social Work Backing: Work alongside founders bringing together extensive nursing, social work, and safeguarding expertise to guide you.
    ● True Autonomy: We offer a flat, open structure where you can shape the decor, hire your own staff, and run the home without corporate red tape.
    ● Therapeutic Focus: We use communication-led, trauma-informed care combining PACE, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), and Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI).

    Why join Great Children Support?
We believe children's care should be focused on building safe, trusting relationships rather than just managing behaviours. We support children aged 8 to 17 with communication difficulties, trauma, and neurodiversity through lived core values:

    ● Dignity & Respect: Ensuring children feel respected, safe, and in control of themselves during every interaction.
    ● Individualised Care: Adapting our home environment and approach to the child, not expecting the child to adapt to us.
    ● Calm & Honest Ethos: Promoting a consistent, reliable environment built on transparency and accountability (what we say is what we do).
    ● Focus on Outcomes: Celebrating small, meaningful progress that builds confidence, independence, and long-term life skills.

As a Registered Manager with us, you're joining a leadership team that values your growth as much as your clinical expertise. You'll work directly with our Responsible Individual, Irene, enjoying high expectations, massive support, and the freedom to lead from the front.

About Our Home / Our Hub
Heartwood House is a semi-detached home on a quiet residential street in Rotherham. It features a spacious driveway, a rear garden with a planned play area, and is close to local parks, schools, and transport links. We've got all the safety essentials ready, but we're waiting for you to lead the final decor, setups, and team build.

The Role: What you'll be doing
You'll oversee the daily operations of our new two-bed specialised home, supporting children who may present behaviours linked to unmet needs, trauma, and complex learning disabilities.

    Your day-to-day will involve:
    ● Leading with PACE: Creating a warm, low-arousal environment where you shape the therapeutic culture and mentor your support team.
    ● Building Your Team: Recruiting, inducting, and developing a stable, highly specialised staff team, delivering regular supervision and appraisal.
    ● Achieving Compliance: Directing the imminent Ofsted registration, managing the budget, and leading on Regulation 45 quality assurance.

    Your Experience and Qualifications

    ● The Background: Proven experience as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager with a deep understanding of Ofsted regulations.
    ● The Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, excellent multi-agency communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
    ● The Personality: Approachable, resilient, and a strong advocate who is open to feedback and solutions-focused.
    ● Logistics: Full UK driving licence, right to work in the UK, and a willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
    ● Qualifications: At least part-qualified with your NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (we'll fund and support the rest).

    Desirable:
    ● Fully qualified with your NVQ Level 5 and established experience in a registered children's home.

    Your Package and Perks
    ● Salary: £48,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience) + performance-linked bonus and extra shift pay.
    ● Benefits: 30 days holiday (including bank holidays, increasing with service), pension scheme, and birthday leave.
    ● Environment: Fully supported CPD budget, flat management structure, and clear career progression as our service grows.

    Our Interview Process
We respect your time and keep our process entirely straightforward:

    1. Apply: Submit your CV.
    2. Screening: A friendly, brief call with our hiring partner resîta.
    3. Interview: A face-to-face meeting with our directors to discuss our culture.
    4. Offer: Conditional hiring decision, subject to safer recruitment checks.

    How to Apply
If you're ready to use your skills and heart as our next Registered Manager, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your CV.
