How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description

    We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Coventry from September 2026.

    The successful candidate will be passionate about inspiring creativity and self-expression, delivering engaging Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will encourage students to develop their artistic skills, explore a variety of media and techniques, and build confidence in their creative abilities.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or Early Career Teacher looking to join a supportive department committed to achieving outstanding outcomes and fostering a love of the arts.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan and deliver engaging and high-quality Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
    Inspire students to develop their creativity, technical skills and artistic confidence.
    Teach a range of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media.
    Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations where applicable.
    Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
    Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
    Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes creativity and learning.
    Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources.
    Support extracurricular activities, exhibitions and enrichment opportunities.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and raise standards.
    Participate in parents' evenings, staff meetings and professional development activities.

    Requirements

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    A degree in Art, Fine Art, Art & Design or a related subject.
    Experience teaching Art at secondary level.
    Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for creative education.
    The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
    Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    A commitment to promoting high standards of achievement and inclusion.
    Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    Experience teaching GCSE Art is desirable.
    Experience teaching A-Level Art would be advantageous.
