How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Health & Safety Manager - Glasgow, UK

    Job Responsibilities

    Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in line with UK legislation and industry standards.
    To provide assistance with the upkeep the management systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and UKAS 17020.
    Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
    Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
    Provide expert advice and support to project teams, management, and staff on health and safety matters.
    Coordinate and deliver health and safety training sessions to promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation.
    Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and best practices within the industry.
    Liaise with external regulatory bodies and ensure compliance during audits and inspections.
    Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety standards and organisational culture.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    Proven experience in health and safety management within the construction or infrastructure sector.
    NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification; NEBOSH Diploma is desirable.
    Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
    Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
    Ability to develop and deliver engaging health and safety training programmes.
    Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    Technical proficiency with health and safety management systems and relevant software tools.
    Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry standards.
