As Buyer, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services critical to operational success.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end procurement activities across a range of categories, including materials, services, and subcontractor support
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements to deliver best value
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives
* Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies and policies
* Monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality, compliance, and delivery standards are met
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, and project teams
* Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
About You
* Proven experience in a Buyer / Procurement role (utilities, infrastructure, construction, or engineering sectors desirable)
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Commercially astute with a focus on cost control and value creation
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Experience using procurement or ERP systems
* CIPS qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous
