How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established and highly regarded project and cost management consultancy in Central London is seeking a motivated and career-driven Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.

    The Assistant Quantity Surveyor's Role

    The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will become part of a collaborative Quantity Surveying team delivering cost management services across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout London and the South East. Sectors include residential, commercial, mixed-use, and public sector developments.

    Day to day, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support senior team members with cost planning, procurement, tender analysis, valuations, variations, and final accounts. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will gain exposure to projects from inception through to completion, working closely with clients, contractors, and consultants.

    This role offers excellent training, regular client exposure, and a structured pathway towards chartership, making it an ideal opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop within a supportive consultancy environment.

    The Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Requirements

    A degree in Quantity Surveying or a RICS-accredited equivalent
    Previous Quantity Surveying experience within a consultancy or construction environment
    Strong interest in pursuing MRICS chartership
    Good understanding of pre and post contract Quantity Surveying duties
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Professional, organised, and eager to learn
    Strong numerical and analytical abilities
