How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, application and successful integration of automotive heat exchangers into customer cooling systems. Working within a technical project management environment, you will act as a key interface between customers and internal departments, ensuring technical requirements are understood and delivered effectively. 
    You will evaluate customer requirements, develop robust engineering solutions and support projects throughout the full development lifecycle, from concept through validation and implementation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver robust engineering designs that meet customer requirements and project objectives
    Conduct technical gap analysis for new projects and customer requests
    Support customers through the design process by providing technical guidance and engineering expertise
    Carry out project evaluations using CAD design, engineering calculations, prototype testing and validation activities
    Develop and coordinate solutions across Design, Development, Validation and Manufacturing Engineering teams
    Act as a key technical interface between customers and internal stakeholders
    Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensure successful implementation into manufacturing
    Manage engineering changes and coordinate implementation activities
    Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and senior management
    Ensure compliance with company standards and IATF/TS16949 requirements
    Travel to customer sites within the UK and internationally as requiredWhat We're Looking For

    Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
    Previous experience within an Applications Engineering role
    Automotive industry experience is preferred, particularly within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier environment
    Experience managing engineering projects and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities
    Strong 3D and 2D CAD design experience, ideally using Creo (Pro Engineer)
    Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
