Temporary Electrician – HMP Styal
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to provide temporary cover at HMP Styal
This is an ongoing temporary assignment supporting the site while the client recruits for a permanent member of staff. The successful candidate will join the facilities maintenance team, helping to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the establishment.
Working Hours
* 39 hours per week
* Monday to Friday: 07:45 – 16:45
* Saturday and Sunday: 07:45 – 15:45
* 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis
Pay Rate
Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience.
The Role
* Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance
* Fault finding and repairs across the site
* Electrical testing and inspections in line with BS7671 regulations
* Completing minor installation works and replacements
* Ensuring electrical systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational
* Following health and safety procedures, RAMS and safe systems of work
* Supporting the wider facilities team and escorting contractors where required
Requirements
* Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent
* 18th Edition qualification preferred (17th Edition considered)
* Previous experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding
* Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
* Good understanding of health and safety requirements
* Ability to work independently and at height when required
* Basic IT skills
Desirable
* Experience with fire alarm systems
* CCTV maintenance knowledge

Additional Information
Due to the nature of the site, all successful applicants will be required to undergo prison security clearance and a DBS check before commencing work.
