CV Technical are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business that designs and delivers bespoke material handling and processing solutions to customers across the UK and internationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded design professional who enjoys seeing projects develop from concept through to manufacture and installation.
The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of bespoke mechanical systems and equipment, working closely with customers, production teams, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing 3D models and detailed engineering drawings
Designing bespoke mechanical equipment and assemblies
Supporting projects from concept through to manufacture
Liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
Ensuring designs meet customer specifications and industry standards
Supporting continuous improvement and product development activities
Assisting with technical problem-solving and design modifications
Occasional travel to customer sites when required
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer position
Strong 3D CAD modelling experience
Apprentice trained or qualified in a mechanical engineering discipline
Experience designing machinery, mechanical systems, or special purpose equipment
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Willingness to travel occasionally when required
