How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working closely with Project Managers, Commissioning Engineers, Electrical Contractors, and Clients, you will play a key role in producing accurate technical drawings, schematics, and system layouts that ensure projects are delivered successfully from design through to installation.

    The Role
As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining technical drawings for lighting control systems used across commercial, architectural, and high-end building projects.
    Your responsibilities will include:
Producing detailed lighting control schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.

Designing drawings that incorporate DALI networks, occupancy sensors, daylight sensors, lighting control panels, emergency lighting interfaces, switches, and user control systems.
Developing control system layouts and device schedules.
Interpreting electrical drawings, consultant specifications, and client requirements.

Ensuring all documentation complies with project requirements, company standards, and industry regulations.
Supporting project delivery teams with accurate and well-structured technical information.
    What We're Looking For

Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
Good understanding of electrical principles and wiring practices.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and construction drawings.
Knowledge of DALI lighting control systems and associated devices.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate technical documentation.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
    Desirable Experience

Previous experience within the lighting controls industry.
    Knowledge of DALI-2 standards.
    Understanding of commissioning principles.
Electrical qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND, or Degree.
Experience producing as-built drawings and technical documentation.
    What's On Offer

Salary of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office.
    Ongoing training and development opportunities.
Exposure to a diverse range of commercial and architectural projects.
Opportunity to work with advanced lighting control and smart building technologies.
    Supportive and collaborative team environment.
Clear opportunities for career progression within a growing business.
