Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing IT/OT Support Technician to join Siemens Energy at their Worcester site. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a critical manufacturing environment, supporting the delivery of secure, efficient, and standardised digital operations across production systems.
This is a hands-on, site-based role, combining IT and Operational Technology (OT) support, with a strong focus on industrial cybersecurity, network infrastructure, and digital manufacturing systems.
Role Purpose
You will play a key role in supporting the convergence and development of IT/OT systems, ensuring secure and resilient operations aligned with corporate standards. Working as part of a small, agile team, you'll deliver high-quality digital services to production areas while collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and global IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support & Optimisation
Provide hands-on support for IT/OT systems within the manufacturing environment
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to maximise uptime and performance
Support local and global manufacturing software solutions
Assist IT Technical User Support activities, including holiday cover
Project Implementation
Support delivery of local IT/OT projects
Ensure compliance with global standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and IEC 62443
Maintain hardware and software standards across production systems
Network & Asset Management
Configure and maintain secure OT network connectivity, including vendor equipment
Document local network architecture and configurations
Manage OT assets and support business continuity and disaster recovery planning
Cybersecurity
Support secure and resilient IT/OT operations across the factory
Work with global cybersecurity teams to implement and improve security measures
Support secure onboarding of new digital assets
Ensure adherence to cybersecurity and patch management standards
Collaboration & Communication
Act as a technical liaison between IT, OT, engineering, and business teams
Contribute to global IT/OT initiatives and standardisation efforts
Deliver high-quality service aligned to performance and security metrics
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
Experience in a technology support role, ideally within manufacturing or OT environments
Knowledge of IT networking fundamentals
Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks / industrial cybersecurity principles
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to manage workload effectively and solve problems independently
Desirable
Experience with IIoT connectivity (e.g., OPC UA)
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS Connected Factory
Familiarity with OT hardware including PLCs, HMIs, and industrial sensors
