How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Reception Teacher - Chorley - September 2026 (Maternity Cover)

    Veritas Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded 1.5 entry Primary School in Chorley, Lancashire, seeking an experienced, creative, and passionate Reception Teacher for a maternity cover position starting September 2026.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming and well-established Early Years team in a school that is committed to delivering a high-quality, supportive learning environment.

    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-time, maternity cover
    Pay: £160 - £240 per day (dependent on experience and pay scale)

    The Role

    The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Reception class, delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.

    You will be expected to:

    Plan, prepare and deliver creative, play-based learning opportunities across all areas of the EYFS curriculum
    Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
    Track, assess, and monitor pupil progress using EYFS assessment frameworks
    Differentiate provision effectively to meet a wide range of abilities and developmental needs
    Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support each child's learning journey
    Contribute to the wider Early Years team and actively engage in school life

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Have recent and relevant experience teaching within Early Years / Reception
    Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum
    Be confident in delivering phonics (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters & Sounds or similar)
    Have excellent behaviour management and organisational skills
    Be creative, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality early education
    Be a positive team player with a proactive attitude
